Since May 2007 when I took office, we have undertaken a
number of recruitment efforts reaching out to current federal employees. These efforts included participating in eight
pre-retirement seminars, one National Conference held in Denver, one senior day, and over thirty
health fairs. The opportunities we get
to recruit current federal employees
are limited, so we have made every effort to take advantage of the
opportunities that present themselves.
I wish to thank all of those members who have given of their
time to volunteer for these various recruitment activities this year and I hope
that they will not lose their spirit of volunteerism. It is important that we continue our
commitment to recruit new members who can carry on protecting our health
benefits, cost of living adjustments, and challenging discriminatory tax
policies.
As we begin a new year shortly, I would like to invite
members to step forward and join the cadre of volunteers for these various
activities which will continue into next year. Call me (720-733-1497) or e-mail me (npllkhm1111@aol.com)
so that I can add your name to the List of NARFE Volunteers for 2008.
I believe one of our newest NARFE posters says it all – Would It Be A Wonderful Life Without NARFE? Laws can change. So can your retirement. We need to protect what is ours. That
involves giving of our time, talent and commitment.
